Panther Coffee was founded in 2010 by Traverse City native Joel Pollock and his wife, Leticia. Roasted locally in Traverse City, Panther Coffee excels in the art of small-batch coffee, emphasizing dedication to quality, ethical sourcing, and the profound personal connections fostered with their farming partners. These friends and colleagues not only possess generations of knowledge and passion, but they produce some of the finest lots of coffee available anywhere.

In 2020, Panther Coffee expanded its reach into Traverse City, with the launch of its own roastery. This strategic move aimed to bridge the geographical gap and bring Panther’s signature specialty coffee experience to the heart of Michigan.

With a focus on accentuating sweetness, body, and nuanced flavors inherent in their directly traded coffees, the Traverse City roasting team defines the specific roast profile to be used. Our goal is to achieve full development and caramelization of the sugars present within the coffee bean, without the conversion of these precious caramelized sugars into carbon, which can result in an ashy or smoky taste.
